YEONGAM, South Korea (AP) — Hyundai's former chief of research and development, Albert Biermann, once told me that the company's N cars were designed to be "a little crazy." And if you've ever driven an Elantra N, Kona N, or Veloster N (RIP), you'll understand precisely what I mean. Hyundai's N vehicles are practically unstable and noisy at the best of times; they're not the fanciest or most sophisticated pocket rockets, but they're great as salt water candy.
