The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) or MCI screening test is a biannual nationwide assessment conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in June and December. This exam is designed for Indian citizens, as well as Indian citizens residing overseas, who have obtained their medical degrees from foreign institutions and seek registration, either provisional or permanent, with the Medical Council of India (MCI). Passing the FMGE enables international medical graduates to obtain licensure for practicing medicine in India.
