Nature of the Community Development Organization (CDO)
The Community Development Organization (CDO) is a registered voluntary, non-profitable, nonreligious, and non-governmental organization. The Government and the international aid organizations are working on normalizing the human life in the war affected areas through the development of socio economic factors. The progress made so far is not sufficient to normalize the human life in the war affected people of the affected district. It is understood that 30 years of distraction cannot be normalized within four years. The local participation in the development planning and implementation is highly emphasized; in the absence of local level development organizations within the district the aid organizations faced difficulties to get contribution in planning and implementing district level recovery and development initiatives. It has been decided to utilize the local resource (Natural and Human) to maximize the development result and ensure the sustainable development initiatives of the district, to reach this goal the Community Development Organization (CDO) is established with the active participation of professionals and well-wishers in the District.
