The Jensen Community Organization is a group dedicated to improving the Albany Park neighborhood through both public and volunteer work
The Jensen Community Organization is an old-established Illinois corporation. It was founded in 1991 by its president, Florence Stoller. In past years its activities were mainly civic nature: petition circulation; school construction and improvements; and street, sidewalk, and parkway improvements.
Now, nearing its second quarter-century of existence and in view of changing times, the JCO has evolved into a mainly hands-on group. Its members are actively creating gardens along Lawrence Avenue, seeking to develop or embellish empty lots and making efforts to improve storefront appearances. Also, we have many beautiful buildings along Lawrence Avenue and would eventually like to initiate architectural tours.
We feel there is much that can be done to improve the Albany Park Neighborhood. Florence's latest comment is "Anything you do, do it well." In this regard, we wish to recruit new members to help us along the way.
