40 reviews and 3 photos of QANTAS "I was just talking to a friend who recently got back from Oz and had taken the less than a year old direct flight on Qantas from SFO and reminded me I should review my flight.

Qantas is skull effing amazing. 16 hours of jaw dropping service and entertainment direct from SFO to Sydney for $800 ($1012 w/tax) RT. The planes were all brand new. Every seat had the most amazing entertainment system I've seen for in-flight as yet. I had a movie library on my personal screen in front of me that was so extensive I had difficulty plotting out my sleep and movie time! Gorgeous interface that was easy to navigate. Beyond the movies they have a damn amazing music library. I put myself to sleep with Ministry of Sound - Chillout Vol (something). The fact that they had *several* of those discs available was surprising.

You're given a goody bag when you get on the plane. It's got water, snacks, and all sorts of goodness. You also get a comfort pack. Sleep mask, socks, toothbrush+paste, and something else I'm forgetting. Packaging and design was all first rate.

Food. Wow again. I was convinced they were going to fly me to a remote island after fattening me up on the plane and sell us to cannibals. Point being they feed you. They feed you more. Then you get fed MORE. If you're hungry by the time you get off the plane something is wrong with you. The food was excellent. Presentation was excellent.

Flight staff damn near dotes upon you. Everyone was super friendly and always popping in to see how you were doing. It was so surreal and so unlike anything else I had experienced in all of my other international and domestic travels I felt like I was hit in the head with a baseball bat and left crosseyed and confused. I am NOT used to that. Domestic travel in the USA is garbage and thanks to Qantas I hate having to fly on anyone other than them (or Virgin Blue in Oz).

16 hours on a plane sounds long. Well, it is, but not when you're on the direct flight from SFO to Sydney. No way in hell. I was beyond comfortable, well taken care of, and highly entertained.

I'll say it again. WOW! Not the warcraft lameness WoW but "WOW I NEED A CHANGE OF BOXERS I JUST JUICED MYSELF WOW!"

Qantas has the best record of any air carrier in the world. They've *never* had a crash. They have the most well maintained fleet. The staff are amazing. Fly Qantas if you're heading to Oz. There's other optionsgetting there, but don't bother.

Thank you Qantas for completely ruining all perspective of what I thought was "good" here in the states."
