How to Install Power Folding Tow Mirrors on 2005 GMC Sierra

Start by lowering both front door windows for easier access. Open the door and locate the triangular trim panel on the inside of the door where the mirror mounts. Use a trim tool to carefully pry off this panel. Behind it, you will find three nuts (usually 10mm) securing the mirror to the door. Remove these nuts with a socket wrench. The factory mirror may also have an electrical connector for power adjustment and heat. Disconnect the harness by pressing the tab. Pull the mirror away from the door. Clean the mounting area thoroughly—old gaskets or dirt can prevent a proper seal. Repeat on the other side.
