Battery Management and Handling Rules

The Battery Management and Handling Rules were adopted in 2001 with the primary purpose of ensuring the safe handling of discarded lead-acid batteries for all holders of stakes. Rules are created to adequately track and document the selling or importation of lead-acid batteries and the recall of used batteries by registered recyclers for their recycling in order to protect the environment.
