Vietnam's cashew industry is entering the second half of 2026 with a striking trade paradox: the country remains the world's leading exporter of cashew kernels, yet its processing industry depends heavily on imported raw cashew nuts. According to the latest Vietnam import data & Vietnam Customs import data for raw cashew, Vietnam imported 1.81 million metric tons of raw cashew nuts by July 15, 2026, worth more than US$3 billion. Vietnam imported around 3 million tons of raw cashew nuts worth a record-high of $4.5 billion in 2025, a 25% increase from the previous year, as per the data on Vietnam cashew imports.
