The AMDA's Performing Arts Library is an innovative partner in the pursuit of academic excellence for the AMDA NY community and a leader in providing dynamic performing arts information services. The Library provides a welcoming facility that supports the students, alumni, faculty and staff in their academic, artistic and professional goals by providing enhanced access to organized performing arts collections and instructional resources, promoting local cultural events and activities, providing free or discounted access to live theatrical and premier cinematic performances, and assisting in job placements and individual professional development. An extensive collection of performing arts materials including over 75,000 individual pieces of sheet music, 6,000 play scripts, nearlyn1,000 piano/vocal scores, 800 songbooks, 900 musical librettos, 300 screenplays, 2,000 audio recordings, 2,000 video recordings, and numerous source materials, biographies, autobiographies, reference sources and additional research materials are available at the AMDA Library for all students, staff, faculty and alumni use. A seminar introducing all new students to the Library and its collections will take place during Orientation Week.
