Central Ground Water Authority

The Indian Parliament enacted Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 to regulate, monitor and control the pollution and to safeguard the environment in the Union Territory of India. The Central Ground Water Authority was set up under Section 3 (3) of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 so that all the water resources in the Indian Territory could be developed and preserved for the usage of the future generations of India.
