Change the way we listen to the world.
You're listening to Soundart Radio on 102.5fm
There are plenty of other stations to chose from, but we're a bit different than them
And that's because everybody’s welcome here to come and make their own lovely show
We like sound, we like art and we're near to the River Dart, and that's why we're called Soundart Radio
- Soundart Radio Jingle
Soundart Radio 102.5fm broadcasts in the Totnes area of South Devon, providing a full time community radio service that offers a distinct alternative to other radio stations. Over 100 volunteers each week produce programmes for the station with a wide range of subjects and formats. The station does not dictate to programme makers or listeners what their experience should be, but trusts people to bring their unique selves to its rich mix of styles and ideas, and encourages people of all ages to play and experiment, using low cost equipment, hand made machinery and open source software.
It reports annually to Ofcom, against all commitments of it's licence, including social gain objectives as well as programming.
Soundart Radio first broadcast in November 2006 as a campus station for Dartington College of Arts, and relaunched under a community radio license in February 2009.
Ofcom announced in October 2013 that Soundart Radio's license will be renewed until February 2019.
