MEO Kenya now has a mission to help Mathare Women and children to discover their purpose in life.
Back on the Easter Sunday of 2010, a Dutch lady named Eva de Boer from Rotterdam; the Netherlands came to Nairobi to tour Kenya and Ethiopia and providentially met Benard O. Nyachieo. Benard approached Eva and immediately Eva was interested in Benard’s personal idea of founding a local NGO that would help him to help Mathare children and women to discover their purpose in life. Eva quickly believed it was a noble idea and immediately resolved to spend the first seven days of her tour in Kenya in brainstorming the possibilities of helping Benard founding MEO Kenya.
Eva decided to be the first sponsor by donating all start up costs to register MEO Kenya as NGO. On the 30th of September 2010 MEO Kenya was founded as a poverty alleveiation NGO .
Over the years, Benard has developed a very good relationship with Esther de Boer, Eva’s older sister and founder of the Estherakka Foundation in Amsterdam. They have introduced many volunteers and both financial as well material donations to MEO Kenya. Esther is in charge of plannning together with Benard and has remained a very close partner through her foundation to MEO Kenya since April 2011.
MEO Kenya now has a tremendous mission to help Mathare Women and children to discover their purpose in life and Benard is now MEO Kenya CEO.
