Kasturi is a 24-hours Kannada-language television channel in Karnataka, India. It was launched on 26 September 2007. The channel is owned by Kasturi Media Private Limited which is managed by Anitha Kumaraswamy, wife of the ex-chief minister of Karnataka, H. D. Kumaraswamy. Kasturi TV is available only on cable networks. According to Kumaraswamy he conceived the idea (of starting a TV channel) in 1995, when he was producing films. The channel is an infotainment channel, with 40 percent news content. Kannada director S. Narayan has been made in-charge of the entertainment part of the channel.Notable programsSapta Swara for kidsAfter their successful musical programme-Sapta Swara for kids for which the finals was held on 27 January in Jayanagar Shalini Grounds. An audience of around 4000–5000 witnessed the final programme. The Chief Guest of the evening was Shri Manomurthy the most popular Music Director distributed the prizes. Now this channel wants to start a new programme for seniors known as Haadina Bandi . This programme will be held in each district and about 20–25,000 people would be invited for the audition.
