Yoshi Nakama's passion for art started at a young age when he moved to New York City from Japan. He worked as a producer for a well-known artist before purchasing a lathe and starting to produce wood pen sets. Since then, his style has evolved. His 18111 writing instruments are hand-crafted from Alumilite resin and decorated with maki-e strategies.
