The Writers and Readers Festival is a annual gathering of poets, prose writers, dramatists, philosophers, historians, playwrights and essayists from India and across the world, under one umbrella at Kala Academy, a riverside venue in Panjim, the capital city of Goa. The venue itself is a work of art with an enclosed auditorium, amphitheater, gallery, open areas, grounds as well as a walkway along the river that leads to an unused jetty. All planned events of the festival such as seminars, discussions, talks, exhibitions, festival book store and the cultural events planned on all evenings will be held here.
The festival focuses on literature and showcases authors from English, Konkani, Marathi, Kannada, Hindi and Portuguese languages.
The Writers and Readers Festival, Goa 2014 is being conducted by Literary Speaking, Bangalore, in collaboration with Kala Academy, Panjim, Goa
