The state of Minnesota has an extensive list of marijuana laws which regulate the possession, use, and sale of marijuana. Possession of up to 1.5 ounces of marijuana for personal use is legal for those 21 and older. However, it is illegal to use marijuana in public and driving under the influence of marijuana is prohibited. The sale of marijuana is illegal in Minnesota. Medical marijuana is currently legal in Minnesota, but only for a very limited number of conditions. Qualifying patients must register with the Minnesota Department of Health and obtain a medical marijuana card in order to access medical marijuana.
